Erasmus Rudolf FABIJAŃSKI (1826-1892)
Polish painter, draughtsman, wood engraver, printmaker, screenwriter. Graduate of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. After graduation, he was director of the theater in Zhytomyr in 1852-1860. He designed the decorations for the premiere performance of Stanislaw Moniuszko's 'Halka'. Then director of a theater in Kiev. He left for Warsaw, where he wrote for 'Kurier Warszawski' and illustrated 'Kłosy' and 'Tygodnik Ilustrowany'. He settled in Cracow where he decorated churches and theaters.
