Painter descended from a family of medalists of that name. Jan Jakub Reichel was active at the court of King Stanislaw August in the late 18th century. Emilia is probably his granddaughter, daughter of Karl Christian, who was active in Irkutsk (from about 1840), where he came with his many children.
