1864 Warsaw - 1945 OzorkówStudied painting at the Warsaw Drawing Class under Wojciech Gerson (until 1887), later (1888-1890) he studied at the Cracow School of Fine Arts under Jan Matejko; under his direction he also worked on the polychrome of St. Mary's Church. After that, he continued to study in Paris. He traveled to Naples, Rome and St. Petersburg. Since 1897 he lived permanently in Warsaw. He painted landscapes, genre scenes, seaside landscapes, flowers and still lifes. He designed posters and illustrated books and magazines. He also did mural painting (including polychromy of the presbytery of the cathedral in Kielce) and restoration of old frescoes.
