Russian landscape and portrait artist, Distinguished Artist of the Karelian ASR (1979), and RSFSR (1985), National Artist of the Russian Federation (2000), honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012). He graduated from the Irkutsk Institute of Art in 1952. After being drafted into the army, he studied in Irkutsk at the Military Technical Aviation School, after which in 1954 he was sent to serve in the Karelian-Finnish SSR, in the garrison of the village of Besovets. Since 1956, he has lived in Petrozavodsk. His work explores the history of Russia and the folk architecture of the Russian North. Asking price 1500
