65,3 x 39,3cm - oil, canvas signed l.d.: M. A. Szulczyński
Far-reaching realism, combined with a deepened psychology of the model, as well as subdued colors with a predominance of browns and grays - betray the hand of the graduate of the Munich Academy. Few of Szulczynski's works have survived, while the offered painting is the earliest known today. It shows the scale of the talent of the prematurely deceased artist, who in his later period took up mainly portrait and religious painting.
