Biography
Painter and collector. His father was Karol Filip Wandalin Mniszech (1794-1844), and his grandfather was Michał Jerzy Mniszech (1748-1806), Grand Marshal of the Crown. He spent his youth at the family estate in Wiśniowiec and in Paris. From 1854 he lived in Paris, where the Mniszechs' rich art collection was also located. He had already learned drawing in Wiśniowiec, and from the 1860s studied painting in Paris by Jean Gigoux and Leon Cogniet. He mainly created realistic portraits inspired by the paintings of the old masters.
