September 21, 1964 in Rome) - Polish Roman Catholic clergyman, doctor of theological sciences, major general of the Polish Army, field bishop of the Polish Army in 1933-1947, spiritual guardian of Poles in exile in 1945-1964, archbishop ad personam since 1952. John Paul II referred to him as "Bishop-Traveller," and by the General Secretariat of the Second Vatican Council called him "True Shepherd" after his death.
