Biography
From 1945 to 46 he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Valenciennes. He traveled to Poland in 1950.The artist since 1953 did not leave the sanatorium Bukowiec, where he was treated for tuberculosis and where he died after nearly 20 years of stay. The architecture and surroundings of the sanatorium were also the most frequent motifs of his works, although not always taken literally. He had 19 solo exhibitions at home and three abroad (Vienna, Copenhagen, Florence). He participated in group exhibitions. Since 1966 he was a member of the Société Internationale des Graveurs sur Bois "XYLON". In 1963, he received an award at the 5th Biennale of Graphic Artists in Ljubljana, in 1966, two awards (regulation and foundation) at the 1st International Biennale in Cracow. In 1967, he received an award at the Vancouver International Graphics Exhibition, and in 1972, an award at the 2nd International Graphics Biennale in Fredrikstad.
