About the artist :

Born in 1953, graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poster Department, diploma under Prof. Waldemar Swierzy. Author of more than 1500 posters published in print since 1977 in Poland and abroad. In addition, he is involved in book and press illustration, and is the author of album covers, theatrical and television stage designs, screenplays for films and music videos.
Andrzej Pągowski has presented his works at numerous solo exhibitions at home and abroad. He has won dozens of Polish and foreign awards, among which it is worth mentioning several top trophies at the International Competition for the Best Film and Television Posters (including 6 Gold Medals and the title of The Best of Show) in Los Angeles and several top prizes at the International Film Poster Competition in Chicago.
His works are in many private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco, the Pompidou Center in Paris. The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art included the "Smile of the Wolf" poster among the 100 most important works of modern art in MoMA's collection. (source official website of the artist)
