The order was established on July 3, 1829 and first bestowed in 1833 by the first Hellenic king Otto I. The name of the Savior was given to the order in commemoration of the belief that Greece was reborn through the help of God. A five-class order according to the well-known scheme of the Legion of Honor. Awarded to Greek citizens for outstanding service to the country in time of war or peace, and to outstanding foreigners.
The clasp pin is missing, but otherwise in very good state of preservation.
Beautifully enameled and gilded, made in silver.
