Katarzyna Bruniewska-Gierczak graduated in History from the Faculty of Humanities at the Kazimierz Wielki Academy of Bydgoszcz, majoring in Cultural Heritage Protection. In 2009 she completed a course in "Art". She discovered her passion for painting in early childhood. She reached for oil paints at the age of 16. From the beginning, the central place in her paintings is occupied by a woman, her emotions and sensitivity.
Later, she replaced oil painting with watercolor, which resulted in many illustrations. Some of them were on the covers of Polish and foreign books and magazines. At present, she mainly paints oil paintings. Magical realism is the field in which she reaches for inspiration. Her paintings allude to this mysterious world, where reality intertwines with imagination, creating stories that make you think and dream. In every detail, she tries to convey that subtle boundary between the visible and the hidden.
