Zhaneta Chlostwoska - Seamstress: "Storytelling about one's work is a breakneck activity, since in almost all fields of art it is impossible to convey the author's sensitivity and intentions as a carbon copy on the perception of the viewer. In addition, the moment we go public, our works begin to live their own lives taking on new contexts, meanings over which we no longer have any influence."
The background of a painting is most often the location of the main subject in time and space. The resulting implications are often very important to the narrative of the work. What if that narrative is independent of time and present in every space? Then the background ceases to carry any information or is even misleading.
