DOMINIK KURYGA
Born in 1994 in Warsaw, Poland. Freelance researcher and designer dealing with plasma physics and electrical engineering. In addition to strictly scientific subjects, he is interested in capturing the beauty of physical phenomena.

The art duo describes their work this way:

Since the end of 2021, we have been creating works with which we want to bring viewers closer to the theme of the complexity of the universe and the mechanisms that govern it. We present our monochromatic images on paper, as well as on PVC board and glass. We remain faithful to black and white, which bring freedom of interpretation and do not impose a narrative or mood.
Our works are created using a technique that involves direct registration of electrical discharges on a light-sensitive surface (we paint with electricity). We place a photosensitive material on a thick glass and an electrode above it. At first, we carried out discharges from the electrode applied at single points. Then we began to experiment with the placement of objects, substances and use fast processes, which makes it possible to obtain a variety of forms and create compositions of varying complexity. The process of developing and fixing works is the same as in analog photography.

Based on the technique, our artistic vision has grown. The unpredictable nature of the phenomenon urged us to take up the subject of the complexity of the world around us. This is a kind of compositional buckle: to create conditions for considering the complexity of the universe by presenting works created with a technique that is the quintessence of this complexity. We have noticed that our paintings can be like a mirror for the viewers and can make them aware of things: fleeting (like emotional state), those more permanently connected with a person (like disposition), as well as unchangeable (character).
