Born in Gdansk in 1947, studied from 1971 to 1976 at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk, in the studio of Professor Wladyslaw Jackiewicz. During his studies, he is interested in photography and film. Actively participates in the student film club "Zak" and the Gdansk Photographic Society. He participates in many photographic exhibitions, among others: Sao Paulo - Brazil; Aigle - Switzerland, Dijon - France, Hong Kong. In 1976, he receives a bronze medal for his film "Breakfast" at the World Film Festival in Baden, Austria.
During this period he creates a number of painting compositions in metal, glass, wood and artificial resins. He is interested in textiles, which he studies with Prof. Józefa Wnukowa. In 1978, he begins teaching in the Department of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture of the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology as an assistant, and since 1988 as an assistant professor in the same department. In 2000, he received a postdoctoral degree. As a didactician, he develops original programs on the study of drawing and painting.
