Contemporary German artist, representative of figurative painting and naturalism. From 1993 to 1999 he studied painting with Peter Nagel at the Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel and philosophy and art history at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel. Orientation towards creative means of photography, stylistic closeness to Hans Holbein and works of the New Objectivity. Works primarily on picture cycles and series of works, some of which are arranged in space as objects. Existential themes but also socio-political content, often related to art historical iconographies and classic genre painting. The models are almost exclusively family members, naturalistic representations in combination with computer-generated and graphic elements.
