Marcin Weron, "Transmutation" photography (artistic photo-images) print on cvp board 100 x 70 cm
Marcin Weron, Released into the world on Friday 1972. Poznan citizen. Musicologist by education, production manager in the media industry by profession, homebody by habit. He has and uses a photographic camera, nevertheless photography, as a branch of art, interests him moderately, with a tendency to virtually none. For him, it is only a medium that allows him to satisfy a compulsive need for creation; an artistic one, we might add, somewhat overstatement. He treats photographs as half-finished products for the creation of what he calls 'photo-images' (by calling them 'photographs' he arouses the amusing indignation of orthodox photographic purists), which are the result of shooting under the influence of a somewhat degenerate imagination and moderately skillful use of a computer photo-processor. He captures and creatively distorts (at least that's what he thinks) mainly himself, although for the past five years or so he has also been taking increasing pleasure in bullying strangers - mainly members of the non-repulsive sex. Hence the division of his virtual gallery into self-portraits and non-auto-portraits. He indulges in the above procedure exclusively in his almost-right-now-quasi-studio (called photonora) arranged in the drying room of the block of flats where he lives.
