Biography
Joanna Kotecka / Tatai is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where she successfully defended her diploma in painting in the studio of Prof. Krzysztof Skarbek (Faculty of Painting and Sculpture) in 2010. She does easel painting, in addition to drawing and photography. For her, painting is a journey, a search and a personal reaction. She is inspired by border places in the human condition, located at the intersection of various cultures. She does not identify with any trend, she experiments. Thus, she pays tribute to complete freedom in style and technique , but also to the discipline of the intuitive process of creation. The artist cooperates with the most important Polish art galleries, and her works belong to private collections both at home and abroad. Tatai describes her artistic activity as "A journey of endless possibilities. The space of the white canvas, in this case, is like a ticket to this journey, and it is a one-way ticket, because where I intend to go, if I manage to get there, some part of myself remains forever.
