Jana Shostak (b. 1993) - Polish-Belarusian intermedia artist and activist, PhD student at the UA in Poznań, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma in Mirosław Bałka's Studio of Spatial Activities, 2017).

In May 2021, she initiated a protest in the form of a one-minute shout for Belarus, which took place daily in front of the European Union representation in Warsaw. The symbolic shout was a call for decisive action against the Lukashenko regime. In his artistic practice, he focuses on activities that activate the community inside the non-artistic system. He believes in the effectiveness of art.

MSN curator Sebastian Cichocki sums up her work, "Jana Shostak, who uses art as a lockpick, breaking into other non-artistic systems such as Polish language, religious pilgrimage or beauty contest."

Winner of the Passport of Polityka 2021, Winner of the Critics Award (Best Diplomas of the Academy of Fine Arts), Honor Mention (Start Point Prize), Grand Prix (Young Wolves '16), 1st place (Festival In Out), ZAiKS Award (Coming out '17), Robert Biedronia Award (Fish Eye Art Biennale) .

She has participated in exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Her Own Way (TOP Museum Tokyo), Art of Being Good (Tallinn Art Hall), Manifesta 11 (Zurich) and Biennale WRO Draft Systems(Wroclaw), Start Point Prize (Arti et Amicitiae, Amsterdam), Resistance of Form. Non-exhibition (Powszechny Theater, Warsaw). Her works are in the collections of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, Arsenal City Gallery, Filmoteka MSN.
