acrylic, canvas, 90 x 60 cm, signed l.d.: I. S.
Graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts in Cracow (direction - exhibiting). She is a graduate of the Pedagogical Academy in Cracow, majoring in Art Education in plastic arts. She earned her bachelor's degree in Painting in the studio of Prof. Piotr Jargusz, and her master's thesis in the Graphic Design studio under the supervision of Prof. Adam Panasiewicz.
Her fascination with the work of Krzysztof Kieslowski resulted in the creation of her thesis "DODEKALOG". It is a collection of twelve posters for the director's early feature films. In 2008, her work was presented at the Zamek Cultural Center in Poznań during the 12th edition of the OFF CINEMA International Film Festival.
She works mainly in acrylic and oil painting, but is no stranger to other techniques, such as watercolor and ink drawing. Her paintings have been presented at several solo exhibitions (including in Cracow), most of them are in private collections. She always looks for inspiration in nature and likes to observe her immediate surroundings. The play of light and shadow and color play an important role in her works. She likes sharp contours and strong contrasts. But it is light that is the key mood-building element, and often even becomes an
autonomous artistic issue, worth exploring and pushing the subject to the background.
