Graduate and doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (she defended her doctoral thesis in Prof. Leszek Misiak's studio). Her paintings can be found in the collections of the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow, the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery and the National Museum in Gdansk, among others. In 2015, she was the winner of the WRO 2015 International Media Art Biennale. In 2021, she was ranked first in the Compass of Young Art.
Agata Kus works in drawing, ceramics and video, but primarily in painting. She composes her paintings like a kind of collage. She experiments with form by creating cut-outs, paste-ups and even using destruction, such as through characteristic holes burned in the canvas with a cigarette. She uses figurative language, but selects and combines elements in a non-obvious way, creating multi-threaded narratives and provoking the viewer to their own interpretation. Her paintings often illustrate the daily lives of people from the millenial generation. However, they are enriched with new themes and surprising contexts.
The Night Art Patrol collection was founded in 2020 in Krakow by Dr. Mariusz Horanin. Its goal is to support and promote the most interesting personalities and phenomena of contemporary painting in Poland. With the participation of private collectors, a significant collection of current painting has been created, which is successively presented at exhibitions and in the media space. The Night Art Patrol collection has a dynamic character and its mission is to actively support the activities of the most outstanding artists and artists and the further development of contemporary painting in Poland.
