Stefan Batory, Thaler 1585 NB, Nagybánya - rare and beautiful
Thaler minted, after Stefan Batory's accession to the Polish throne, for Transylvania at the Nagybánya mint.

Bust of Stefan Batory in profile to the right, wearing crown and armor, with sword and scepter.
In the rim, an inscription punctuated at the top by a crown and sceptre: STEPHAN D G REX POLON MAG DVX - L
Rw.:
Crown. Under the crown shields with the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania and the Batory family. On the sides, the year 15 - 85 and the letters N - B (the designation of the Nagybánya mint).
In the rim an inscription punctuated at the top: RVS PRVS MAS SAM LIVO PRIN TRAN

Condition: 1
Superbly preserved coin. Plastic relief. Beautiful detail. Intense luster and mint mirror. In this state of preservation rare and quite difficult to get on the collector market. A beautiful piece for discerning collectors.
