Andrzej Zurainski (b. 1954) showed interest in art and architecture from an early age. However, he did not take up studies in line with his field of interest. Reading literature and copying the paintings of old painters, he gained knowledge and skills in oil painting. Since 1970 he began to realize his own works, and in 1981 some of them were exhibited at the Review of Creativity of Non-professional Artists organized in Warsaw. The first individual exhibition of his works was organized by the Art Exhibition Office in Walbrzych in 1984 in the halls of Książ Castle. During this exhibition, he received an offer to exhibit his works in the Hall of the Art Exhibition Office in Klodzko, which he accepted. A year later, he received an invitation to participate in the national Zygmunt Rafal Pomorski Painting Contest. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Association of Polish Painters and Graphic Artists and the Art Exhibition Office in Katowice. In 1989, he participated in a group exhibition of artworks, an event accompanying the European Forum for the Prevention and Treatment of Drug Addiction, held in the halls of the Polish State Railways in Warsaw. Another individual exhibition of his works took place the same year at the Profile gallery, and another in 1990 at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Garwolin. In 2000 there was an exhibition of Andrzej Zurański's paintings titled "Internal Landscape" organized by the Ad-hoc Gallery in the Arsus Cultural Center.
