A nice piece. Well minted.
Type IV bust similar to the target bust of the later mass issue (at the same time with the legend ending in SVE rather than SUE), but the dial still characteristic of the early issues, hence the variety can be described as a hybrid (transitional variety) combining two groups of sixpences. A more interesting, rarer issue.
The coin illustrated in the catalog of L. Ciura.
Note: the book is not the subject of the auction.
The 1667 Bydgoszcz sixpences form a very diverse group of coins. The differences on the reverse concern the shape of the shields of arms and the decorations between them and next to the crown. Differences on the obverse concern only the bust, which can be attributed to several types.
