Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: AU
Estimations: 489 EUR

Obv. half-figure of a bishop with a crosier, in a two-horned mitre, left. In the margin, DVX, and KAZIMIR mirrored.

Silver, 0.10 g, 15.1 mm. Haczewska & Paszkiewicz (NNZN V), no. 1. Grade I. Perfectly preserved.

The coin known from several specimens, but for the first time on this particular specimen, thanks to the perfect minting and equally excellent condition, it is possible to solve the riddle of the name which was legible only in the AZIMIR version to this day. On the specimens known so far, instead of the obvious letter K or C at the beginning, there was an irregular dot. There is also the dot on this coin, but it is clearly visible that the first letter K was originally on the die, which was then levelled out when sinking the ribbons (infulae) hanging from the back of the mitre.
