Sigismund I the Old, Groschen 1539, Danzig

A nice piece with the envelope of the old collection.

Variety with the legend ending PRVSS.

Obverse: crowned coat of arms of Gdansk in the pearl rim, legend in the outer rim started with the mint mark hooks:
GROSSVS-CIVI-GEDANEN-1538;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a royal bust in armor and crown, to the right, in the outer rim a legend started with a star:
SIGIS-I-REX-POLO-DO-TO-PRVSS;
