Religious medal from 1635, Ascension, signed SD Sebastian Dadler.
One of the first medals minted by Sebastian Dadler after his arrival in Poland. Dadler initially took a job at the Bydgoszcz mint in 1635, but by the end of the year he had already moved to Gdansk. The medal alludes to the history of the Apostles, showing the homage paid in Bethlehem completed by the Ascension.

Obverse: Three kings giving gifts to Jesus in a stable in Bethlehem, behind them the figure of Mary and Saint Joseph, at the bottom the initials SD. In the double border the inscription EIN REINER GLAVB EIN SEVFZER HOCH GEDVLT VNTER DES CREVTZES IOCH DIE STVCK GOLT WEIRAVCH MYRRHEN SIND SCHENCKT MAN DEM NEWGEBORNEN KIND.
Reverse: Christ in a halo ascends to heaven, above him the sun with God's name Yahweh written in Hebrew. Angelic figures emerge from the side. The outer border of trillium. In the double border the inscription IESVS SEIN WORT ERHALTE FORT SCHVTZ VNS DARBEY VOR TIRANEY SOLCHS VNS ZVM NEWEN IAHR VERLEYH: MDCXXXV.
