A distinctive denarius depicting the motif of a fight with a lion, a symbol of Ladislaus' courage in his duel with evil.
The issue is dated 1138-1146.
Variant with decorated throne legs on the obverse and a large lion on the reverse.

An exquisite mint piece, with sharp mirror luster.
Definitely recommended - rare in this condition.

obverse: a prince on a throne with a sword in his hand, next to him a standing squire handing a royal apple, an inscription in the rim
reverse: a knight fighting a lion, behind the knight a tree
