R-, Kingdom of Poland, 5 groszy 1840, dot after the denomination

Mint piece, for a variety with a dot top note, one of the prettiest pieces known. A very rare variety minted after 1840 with a dot after the denomination distinguishing it from the original 1840 issue. According to Chalupski, it was probably minted in 1845. At Berezowski's, the variety is valued 20 times higher than the basic one. A great rarity!
