Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: VF+
Reference: Kopicki 317 (R5), Paszkiewicz (Łokietek) typ 3

Good legibility for this type.

A distinctive denarius with a depiction of a helmet, for years considered to be an issue of Wladyslaw Lokietek. Now, in light of Boris Paszkiewicz's findings and Krystian Browarny 's broader entry on the Numismatic Portal, where the occurrence in treasures is presented, among other things, it should be considered a coin of Casimir III.

Variety with obverse inscription on both sides.

Rare

Obverse: helmet with a plume of five feathers, in the rim an inscription.

Reverse: eagle facing right, with outspread wings, in the rim an inscription.

Silver, diameter 11 mm, weight 0.27 g.
