Lot description
Grade: VF-/VF
Reference: RIC 147

The offered denarius has a legend typical of Trajan's later coins, i.e. having a dedicated character, suggesting that it is not the emperor himself who is the issuer of the coin, but is offered to him by the grateful Senate and the Roman People. One of the most accurate representations of the trophy on the reverse on such a small scale, which probably refers to the first Dac campaign completed in 102 AD, deserves attention. Then Trajan took the victorious nickname "Dacicus".
