A very interesting value - a forgery from the era of the first dime of the partition period.
Made in copper (no visible traces of bleaching). Very good stylistically, although different in cut from the original issues.
Rare, as while forgeries from the era of the Partition coinage are encountered, they are usually those from 1840. Early vintages are among the difficult to obtain.
