A rare and collector-prized early half-penny of Casimir Jagiellon.
An issue from 1468-1479, characterized by the letters MK under the crown. This issue, according to Gumowski,"inferior.... testifies to the saturated finances of the state after the Teutonic war. Heavier and larger than the half-penny minted in 1479-91 with the Poraj coat of arms of Piotr Kurozwêcki.".
Very nice state of preservation. Well, deeply minted.
Silver, diameter 21.5 mm, weight 1.28 g.
