A very rare mimetic issue from the Polish mints - a denarius with a shrine and VIDV inscription.
Believed to be a coin of Boleslaw the Brave, as proven in recent research by Mateusz Bogucki, by combining stamps with PRINCES POLONIE denarii.
A sought-after type, only occasionally found on the numismatic market.
Obverse: the roof of the temple, with VIDV below it and an inscription all around.
Reverse: a straight cross with expanded ends, circles and semicircles in the fields, a legend all around.
Silver, diameter 18-18.5 mm, weight 1.15 g.
