A historically interesting, very rare coin.
A low proof issue of the Teutonic penny in the form of a clipped coin, used to finance the war.
Tense relations between Poland and the Order since 1501, related to refusals to pay the fief tribute, led to a war in 1519-1521. A war lost by the Order, being the beginning of its end. Under pressure, the Order's Grand Master Albrecht Hohenzollern converted to Lutheranism, ending the existence of the monastic state. Four years later, the same ruler was forced into a fief tribute by Sigismund I.
