Acrylic on canvas 100x70cm, 2023r
Adam Slefarski has spent his entire conscious life, more than 40 years, involved in art.
Thanks to years of experience, the intended work is in his case, a conscious choice of convention, style, technique and subject matter.
The artist has realized the presented works in watercolor, pastel and acrylic techniques. He operates with a sure hand, subtle colors, achieving the effect of chiaroscuro and atmospheric spaces.
Views and "afterimages" existing in the author's imagination like a film once watched long ago.
Slefarski traces these images with sensitivity; corners, streets, houses, touches of lush nature, the atmosphere of places present and already lost. He praises the open spaces outside the city; vast meadows, riverside boulevards, forest paths and avenues full of light penetrating through the crowns of old trees, the beauty of the human body and face. He notes the changes in civilization, which on the one hand improve our lives, but also destroy the beauty of nature irrevocably.
In each of these worlds he is a seeker of mood and harmony.
Each painting exhibition is an experience, a penetration into another world - the world of the painter, his style and technique. It's delving into the story he tells and the emotions we feel while viewing.
Let's remember, experiencing art is a process that can continue and develop throughout life.
"We are born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only by means of our love and friendship do we create for a moment an illusion in which we are not alone."
- Orson Welles
Creation provides an opportunity to perpetuate love, friendship and illusion, says the author.
