LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, 2001

Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduated with honors under Jan Tarasin in 1977. Graphic annex to the diploma was made under Halina Chrostowska. Comprehensive education, interest in the art of past eras, and above all, the artist's extraordinary imagination makes his compositions surprising with a specific, deliberate anachronism. The paintings reflect the half erudite, half mocking atmosphere of postmodern art of the late 20th century, while at the same time being an expression of longing for the lost idyll of the "golden age. It takes on, under Kazikowski's hand, the forms of a kind of "theater of life, played by characters, mainly women in timeless, bright and flowing costumes, behaving and moving as if on stage. This impression is heightened by the peculiar space of the interiors with backstage buildings, clearances, clearly defined plans. The figures and shapes are characterized by flawless drawing.
