Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she lives and works. She received a diploma from the department of easel painting with dean's distinction in the studio of Professor Stanislaw Baj. She received an annex with distinction in the fabric studio of Professor Dorota Grynczel. She creates in many techniques, such as : ink, watercolor, batik, tapestry, embroidery, felt, ceramics, glass mosaic, tempera. However, the main technique remains oil painting on canvas, sometimes with elements of assemblage. Currently, he creates abstract paintings focusing mainly on the representation of color. These are minimalist compositions referring to the work of Mark Rotko. Inspiration for creation comes from such ephemeral phenomena as light, shadow, wind, depth, temperature, but also from more material ones such as landscape, texture of meadows, vegetation, clouds, water and minerals. The paintings, often with a narrowed, minimalist range and simple composition, reflect the author's urges and feelings. The often repeated motif of transition is symbolic. The main goal is to convey emotions in a non-literal way, allowing the viewer to interpret them freely.
Magdalena Szilke cooperates with Fibak gallery in Warsaw, Ether gallery in Warsaw and Vivid gallery in Wroclaw . Her paintings are in private collections in Poland, the USA, France and Australia.
