100x150 acrylic canvas
Jan Astner
Graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology in the studios of Franciszek Maśluszczak, Professor Andrzej Bieńkowski and Professor Jacek Sempoliński. He works in painting, drawing, computer graphics and photography. Recent projects are the result of his fascination with multisensory perception. The paintings are part of the imagery resulting from the idea of synthesis of metaphors - the abstract combination of sensory experiences influences the individual feelings of each viewer. He has exhibited in Europe and the USA, and participated in summer author projects at a gallery in Smoden, Sweden, in Izabelin, Poland. He has been involved in consulting related to brand building and management for 25 years. He lives and works in Izabelin, Poland and in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. He creates his works in series, the main focus of which is on the human being and his relationship in the era of posthumanism and transhumanism to the world around him. Creating in " process painting" and using his own acrylic techniques, he expressively expresses the subjects that interest him: Voluptuous Towns - impressions of visited cities, depicted as places where life happens, not architecture or space plays a key role here, but feelings and experiences closely related to the socio-cultural space that influenced the author, Sybaritic Poses - an analysis of the interaction between the external and internal human world, both in the material, sensual and psychological spheres, Transhuman Portraits - a reflection on the changes of the human body, beautification and modification, Synesthetic Landscapes - a multi-sensory pretext involving individual perception. Which tastes are depicted in the painting? Which colors of sounds can be heard? What is the relationship between touch and color? Etc. His art, is very personal, evoking individual, unique relationships and coexisting experiences conveyed in a natural, gentle, simple and easily digestible way.
Outside of Poland, his works have been exhibited and successfully sold in Toulouse, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Malaga, Lisbon and Luxembourg.
