Studied around 1917 or 1918 at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1921-1925 (with Ignacy Pieńkowski, Stanisław Kamocki and Wojciech Weiss, among others). From 1926 to 1929 he was in Paris, where he attended classes at the Conservatorie National des Arts et Metiers (Conservatory of Applied Arts). Then in 1930 he went to Morocco, remaining there until 1938, during which time he traveled extensively, including to France, Italy and Spain. In 1939 he returned to the country and settled in Warsaw. He was a member of the "Zachęta" grouping. He painted mainly landscapes and still lifes, in which he paid special attention to color qualities.
