Painter, printmaker, member of the Kattowitzer Künstlergruppe and the Union of Professional Artists of Silesia. He spent his childhood in Glogowek. Initially he prepared to become an optician, after passing his exams he went to Berlin to study painting. Lack of funds forced him to return to Silesia, he settled in Katowice, where he settled permanently, with a year's break in Vienna in 1928. In 1929, together with Franz Sikora and other German artists from Silesia, he founded the Kattowitzer Künstlergruppe, of which he was chairman until 1936. The artist was also a member of the ZZAPŚ. In 1937 he moved to Berlin, where he settled permanently.
