Dariusz Milinski
Visual artist, born in 1957 in Cieplice near Jelenia Gora. As he says, painting was in him from the very beginning, in his youth he painted on whatever he could - cardboard boxes, sheets, anything that came into his hands. He has participated in more than 200 solo exhibitions, including in Poland, Germany, Belgium, France and the USA. His work is compared to the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, Peter Breugel, Tadeusz Makowski. His works find a wide audience and contribute to distinguished private and public collections. Milinski is a hard-working artist, he paints a lot and exhibits frequently. As he says himself, he has so many ideas in his head that it would be a sin not to paint them. He is one of those few for whom workshop and painting skills still matter, which, combined with a rich imagination, creates amazing, fantastic and fairy-tale Worlds on his canvases. He is not only involved in painting, he is also a stage designer, actor and poster maker. He creates using the oil technique and produces the frames for his works himself.
He became known to a wide audience by creating a poster for the film "EDI ". The success of the film, as well as the poster itself, has now resulted in several more productions, including for Krzysztof Krauze's film "My Nikifor". Milinski is an artist who can't stand still.
He created the Pławna 9 art group, which has a number of happenings and outdoor performances to its credit. He has successfully performed at many street theater festivals, including the prestigious Malta in Poznan. At the foot of the Jizera Mountains, in the village of Plawna, Milinski has created an artistic village - a kind of theater of art, where he himself creates and lives. He invites friends from all over the world to it, both professional artists and art amateurs. He organizes open-air painting workshops and a number of other events, not only artistic ones. He creates the village in the likeness of his paintings, placing characters known from his works in the space. He takes care of children in the area, preparing packages for them for Christmas and inviting them to performances written especially for them. He wrote down his biography in a book titled "Born in the Cemetery." It is an amazing story, funny and sad at the same time. A story about an artist who searched for a long time to finally find his vocation and place on earth.
