Zhanna Kapustnikova completed everything she could to become an artist: from a children's art school to the Academy of Fine Arts.
As a result, she spent 12 years educating herself "properly" learning how to draw and paint. Since then, more than a decade of creative life has gone into learning to do things the other way around. At the moment she is called the most punk artist of Belarus by journalists. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk in 1994, Zhanna managed to work for several years with the legendary band "Piesniary" under the supervision of Vladimir Mulavin. At the same time she worked as a chief artist in the studios of the Opera Theater and Ballet of Belarus, the film industry and television.Although the process itself was very pleasant and fascinating, around 2010 it became clear that it was not possible to work on projects of which one could be proud. Hence the decision was made to engage only in painting. The influence of previous work is noticeable in Kapustnikova's paintings. Working with folk art brought decorativeness, while theater helped to practically free herself from the stagnant stereotypes about formalism being bad. The dramaturgy of each story is present in the images, resulting in a kind of series. Also, the characteristic composition resembling film frames is the result of the artist's film past. Gradually, the paintings have spread around the world and can be found in Europe, America, Africa, Japan, New Zealand. She participates in exhibitions from 1994.
The most important exhibitions were held in Estonia (Tallinn, Pärnu); Latvia (Riga); China (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou); Russia (St. Petersburg, "Erarta"); United Kingdom (London); Switzerland (Art Zurich).
