Zdzisław Nitka's painting refers to Bob Dylan's ballad "Hurricane". "Hurricane" from 1975. Its protagonist - a well-known black fistfighter Rubin "Hurricane" Carter - was accused of committing murder in 1967 during a bar shooting and sentenced to life imprisonment. The trial was controversial, as the whole case had racist overtones. Carter was released from prison in 1985.
