Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He received his diploma in 1969 in the painting studio of Waclaw Taranczewski. From 1973 until his death, he taught painting at the Graphic Arts Department of his alma mater. In 1989, he received the title of professor. In the 1990s, he was also a professor at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw. In his work, he drew inspiration from the art of Young Poland, Impressionism, Art Nouveau and the culture of the Far East. He created his own vision of the modern world. He painted portraits, self-portraits, erotica, mythological and religious scenes, allegories, in his paintings a special place was occupied by images of children. Since the 1980s, he often traveled to southern Europe, painted in the open air exotic vegetation, architecture. He considered himself, and can be considered, a continuator of Polish modernism.
