Biography
From 1948 to 1954 Zbigniew Jaskierski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with Prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch, from whom he received his diploma. From 1957 until his death in a plane crash, he taught at his alma mater. He was a colorist. From the early 1960s, abstract ompositions appeared in his work, in which his previous experience resulted in dynamic forms and juicy and contrasting colors. In 1962 he won the Gold Medal at the First Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin. In 1964 he had a solo exhibition at the Krzywe Koło Gallery. He participated in the most important periodic group exhibitions of the 1960s in the country, and also represented Poland, among others, at the Second Biennale of the Young in Paris in 1961 and at other exhibitions abroad.
