Wladyslaw UKLEJA
1900 - 1978
Painter and printmaker, after WW2 associated with the Silesian art community. Between 1922 and 1928 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Władysław Jarocki and Ignacy Pieńkowski. He is the author of numerous portraits, landscapes, views of architecture, since the 1950s he also painted paintings of sacred subjects. From 1945 he lived in Gliwice, where he worked as a conservator at the Gliwice museum.
