Studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the AGH University of Science and Technology (later Krakow University of Technology). In 1952 he received a doctoral degree, in 1959 a post-doctoral degree, in 1967 the title of associate professor, in 1979 a full professor. In addition to his academic work, he was also involved in activities for the city of Cracow and the architecture and monuments of the entire country. From 1958 to 1964, he was the chief architect of Krakow, head of the study of the Old Town of Krakow, chairman of the Krakow Preservation Commission, president and vice-president of the Society of Lovers of the History and Monuments of Krakow. His program "With Pen and Charcoal" aired every two weeks and was on the air for about 30 years. During this time, Professor Wiktor Zin makes nearly 30,000 drawings on air. On Polish television he hosts such series as: "Club under the Dragon," "Encounters with Monuments," "To Be Here," "On the Niemen, Pina and Pripyat," and "The Art of Looking."
