oil, canvas, 50 x 40 cm, signed l.d.: T. Sętowski, framed work.
He studied art at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Czestochowa, but he himself claims that his studies gave him only theoretical preparation and he is a self-taught painter. In 1991, he became a member of ZPAP. After his individual debut in the country (exhibition at BWA, Czestochowa 1994), his works were included in the touring exhibition Polish Surrealists presented in Poland in 1995-1997. In 1998, the New York gallery Stricoff Fine Art Ltd. took up his work. The artist represents the so-called "magic realism" trend, which is popular with the public. He usually builds his compositions in zones, placing figures in fantastic, colorful costumes. He cooperates with galleries at home and abroad taking part in numerous exhibitions. He creates in oil, acrylic and makes prints using etching and soft varnish techniques. The artist has also developed his own gouache technique. He has also designed many sculptures. His works reflect an extremely rich imagination, creating a world of contrasting emotions and associations.
