Tomasz Kostecki was born on December 18, 1964. As he says himself, when he was 14 years old he realized that painting was his passion and vocation. From Skarżysko he left for Zakopane, where he attended the Kenar High School of Fine Arts. In 1988 he had his first important success, it was an exhibition in Bielefeld, Germany. In Berlin he opened his own gallery and from 1989 to 1991 the artist worked with the National Heritage Gallery of Fine Art in Beverly Hills, California. In 1998, the artist prepared and exhibited a series of paintings on the history of Portuguese discoveries at Expo 98' in Lisbon. Between 2000 and 2002, the Würth Museum in Germany purchased six works by the artist for its collection. Tomasz Kostecki leans toward the art deco style in his work. The first series of paintings created in this style was dedicated to the iconic actress Marlene Dietrich. The artist's works have taken part in many exhibitions in art galleries and auctions in auction houses.
