Biography
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, diploma in the Painting Studio of Prof. Wlodzimierz Lajming (2002) and the Intermedia Studio of Prof. Witoslaw Czerwonka. Since 2002 he has been a resident of the Gdansk Artists Colony in the post-shipyard areas, where he co-founded the artistic group "Znajomi Znad Morza". He works in painting and realization of video works. He currently lives in Warsaw. He has presented his work in individual and collective exhibitions at, among others, the Łaźnia Center for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk, Warsaw's Kordegarda, the Zachęta National Art Gallery, the Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art, the Wyspa Institute of Art in Gdańsk, the Gdańsk City Gallery, the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery in Wrocław or the State Art Gallery in Sopot. Winner of the Polish edition of the One Minute Films festival (Gdańsk - 2006) and the Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale (Bielska Galeria BWA - 2005). In 2017. The National Museum in Gdansk purchased the paintings of Tomasz Kopcewicz for its collection.
